Gerrit Thomas Rietveld Zig Zag Chair By Cassina c.1983 Toys Mimicking the textural play ofABOUT Instantly iconic, the Zig Zag chair (1934) by Dutch designer Gerrit Thomas Rietveld is one of the earliest examples of a cantilevered solid wood chair. Its four wood boards are connected end to end, giving the structure the appearance of a Z shaped puzzle. This version by Cassina features visible dovetail joints. Dated on the bottom.
