The layers of pink and cream cut paper under the glass lid remind me of antique school girl valentines and paper dolls and woven hearts

Rocky shore and sea and sailboats behind them

and I believe several of them

This one I especially love for its combination of three things in one

Theres quite a primitive elegance to him I think, and a bit of surface splitting that makes it appear even as if hes got a cloak drawn around him which to me makes also makes him feel a bit French! (From one angle, with face in profile, he actually reminds me a bit of Punch from Punch and Judy, and also a bit of Napolean!) Fantastic dry wood
