Poetic Artist Made Large Painted Papier Mache Face New York transit authority with what looks to me

with what looks to me an old repair to the top of one section

very finely carved on all sides and stained a terrific near-black

1 3/8" across at opening and 2 3/4" across at base

It measures 6" long x 2 1/4" wide x 1 3/4" tall and is good vintage condition

There are a few unruly bristles but the head of the brush is very full and it is in overall very good condition

Such a wonderfully expressive face, I'd be inclined to give a name to this guy and talk to him like friend (or therapist!) C. 1960s 70s I believe, painted papier mache, strung for hanging. 13" x 8 5 8" and in good condition, with a couple of small dings as documented.
